Supporting Single Parents by Choice

To support families of single parents by choice, and their children, by providing a forum for exchanging and sharing experiences. (Definition of single parent by choice: a person who decides to become a parent, through any means they choose, with the intent to be the only parent of their child).
Organise meetings and activities for parents and their children, promoting the identity and well-being of single-parent families.
Offer information workshops for children of single-parent families by choice, to provide them with resources and advice on the various aspects of life as a donor conceived child from a single-parent family by choice.
Offer information workshops for single-parent families by choice, for people who are undecided about their path, and for extended families, to provide them with resources and advice on the choice to be a single parent and different aspects of life as a single-parent family by choice.
Raise public awareness of the reality of single-parent families by choice, through information and advocacy campaigns.
Promote the rights of parents and children from single-parent families, particularly in terms of donor choice, fertility treatment, access to adoption, access to equal benefits and support, and children's rights.
Mobilising the community and forming a network of peers, as well as establishing partnerships with other associations and public institutions.

Our Mission

Who We Are

We are SMBC Lëtzebuerg – Single Mums by Choice – a young and growing association founded in 2025. Born from the shared experiences of just a few SMBC, our community was created to formalise the connection, support, and visibility we aim to create for women who choose to embark on the journey of motherhood on their own terms.

Though we are small today, we are full of energy and committed to growing together. We warmly welcome current SMBC, prospective SMBC, and friends/family of SMBC who wish to contribute, connect, and support one another to join us by becoming members of the association.

Our mission is to build a space where every member feels seen, empowered, and part of a supportive network. Together, we are shaping a community that celebrates choice, resilience, and solidarity.

Location

We are an asbl registered in Luxembourg, with our seat in Windhof. We are happy to provide support to anyone with a link to Luxembourg, be it through their nationality, employment or place of residence
